Welcome to the Riversdale Garden!
The gardens are open every day of the year from dawn to dusk. Please come visit!
We are located on the grounds of the Riversdale House Museum at 4811 Riverdale Road in Riverdale Park, Maryland.
We grow a wide variety of vegetables, fruit, flowers, herbs and field crops typical of the early 1800s, using organic methods. Our unique setting in a public park invites the neighborhood to watch food grow.
The Kitchen Garden would not be possible without volunteers! Please come join us.
Drop-in volunteer hours are (April-November): Mondays 7am-12pm, Tuesdays 2pm-7pm, and select Sundays from 11am-4pm.
Volunteer Sundays in 2017: April 23rd, May 14th and 21st, June 4th, 18th, 25th, July 9th and 23rd, August 13th and 27th, September 10th and 24th, October 8th and 29th, November 12th and 26th.
During those times, feel free to come when you can and leave when you need to. No sign-up required. For more information or to get on the garden volunteer email list drop us a line at Riversdale@pgparks.com.
The Riversdale Kitchen Garden is an approved “Demonstration Garden” for Prince George’s County Master Gardener hours.
